@Aravi

Hi,

My Smartphone is Galaxy S5.

However, I follow http://trendblog.net/android-file-transfer-not-working/ and look at the step Step 1.1 – just happened to me on stock Android Marshmallow 6.0 :

- Detach USB cable from device
- Enable Developer Mode by going to Settings > About Phone (at the very bottom usually) > press on Build Number repeatedly until the pop-up appears
- Go to Settings > Developer Options
- Enable USB debugging
- Lock device (turn screen off)
- Connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable
- Unlock your Android device
- Swipe down to see notifications and press on “USB for charging”

After this I lock_unlock my Android device and turn off "USB debugging" - restart and I can see my content as before.

It has something to do with Debugging.

Superb !

Thanks a million and have a good day.

Hi,

I try this and have to expand the shrunk video to 250% to fit with S5 screen ! I have to do this everytime I open the video. It's better than nothing. I am not a guru on this, but I don't know why S5 makes things too complicated while I have tried to abide with all requirements of a video of S5.

Hi,

I try to instal it, but fail. I use Windows 10; it looks like the installer is not compatible with Windows 10.

For converter programs, I have tried Freemake Video Converter (free), Apowersoft Video Converter Studio (try period), Bigasoft Total Video Converter 5 (try period), Video Converter Factory Pro (try period).

I have looked at http://samsung-galaxy-video-converter.blogspot.ca/2013/12/galaxy-s-series-supported-video-format.html to check video setting, but I still fail making the video to fit the screen of S5 after bring it back to the phone and the video is shrunk !. S5 must have something to make smartfitting the screen as long as it is still in the phone.

replied the topic Is wireless router connected by Ethernet cable to my computer a wired connection even though it is not connect by Ethernet to modem? created by AddisonLee

I did 2 things :

First thing :

- Powerline Networking Kit (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/networking-accessories/powerline/pcmcat161100050043.c?id=pcmcat161100050043; $77.9). If your parent's modem is a modem-router combo, it is simpler.

This kit comprises 2 adapters (called NETGEAR Powerline 500 Nano adapters) :

- At the modem-router combo : one adapter is plugged to wall outlet near the modem-router. One ethernet cord is needed to connect this adapter to the modem-router combo.

- At your computer : another adater is plugged to wall outlet. Another ethernet cord is needed to connect to your ethernet outlet of your computer.

- Do shake hands between these 2 adapters. That's it.

It is very easy to do this if you follow instructions.

2nd thing :

If you mean 'bypass this process" in order to go straight to desktop.

http://www.techradar.com/news/software/operating-systems/50-windows-8-tips-tricks-and-secrets-1028220/3

1. Log in automatically Warning : Your account will lose admin privileges as a result of this stepOf course even if you remove the lock screen, you'll still be forced to manually log in every time your system starts. This can also be resolved at speed, though, using much the same technique as in previous versions of Windows.
Hold down the Windows key, press R, type 'netplwiz' and press Enter to launch the User Accounts dialog.
Clear the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" box and click OK.
Enter the user name and password of the account that you'd like to be logged in automatically, click OK, restart your system and this time it should boot directly to the Start screen.

2. Bypass the Start Screen and Boot Directly to the Desktop

If you're like most Windows traditionalists, you spend most of your time in the desktop environment and really, really dislike the fact that Microsoft forces you to use that annoying Start screen. Heck, the Start screen is what you're always dumped into when you boot up your PC, like it or not.
In Windows 8.1, however, you can configure your system to bypass the Start screen and boot directly to the desktop. This isn't the be-all and end-all of fixes, but it does remove one minor annoyance.
To bypass the Start screen on bootup, go into the desktop, right-click an open area of the taskbar, and select Properties to display the Taskbar and Navigation Properties dialog box. Click the Navigation tab, go to the Start Screen section, and check When I Sign In or Close All Apps On a Screen, Go To the Desktop Instead of Start. Click OK, and you will.
