I've got some Doc Marten boots that I've had for over 10 years! The only time I wear them now is if I'm riding my motorcycle, or if I just need to step outside for a bit.

replied the topic What do you do if you can’t sleep at night? created by shahab

i see movies all night
Many people drink a lot of caffeinated drinks during the day, and discover that they can't sleep at night. Indeed, caffeine is present in high doses in a huge number of different beverages. Caffeine is a stimulant; having a lot of it in the body can prevent sleep. Coffee is one of the most popular sources of caffeine, and there are more coffee shops than ever before. Sodas are another drink that people have on a regular basis that can have a lot of caffeine, making it so they can't sleep at night.

replied the topic Describe the situation. created by fancy

honesty is the best policy for most parent-child relationships, so if you've broken something valuable, the best approach is to gather your courage and speak to your parents as soon as possible. Although you can't undo the damage that was done, you can prevent the situation from becoming worse. If you truthfully explain to your parents exactly what happened, they'll be more likely to accept the situation and move forward.
Step 1
Prepare yourself for the conversation by deciding in advance what you will say and how you'll say it. Consider having a friend role play with you so you can rehearse what you'll say.
Step 2
Choose a good time to speak to your parents. Don't interrupt them if they're in the middle of something important. Try to approach them when they seem to be in a good mood, but don't wait too long. You'll want your parents to learn about the broken item from you, not from someone else or by seeing the damage first. The KidsHealth website suggests asking your parents for permission before you start speaking. For example, you could say, "I have something I need to talk to you about; do you have some time now?"
Step 3
Recognize that taking responsibility for your actions is the mature thing to do. Although your parents will probably be disappointed that something was broken, they are likely to appreciate the maturity you demonstrate by stepping up to tell them about it.
Step 4
Start the conversation by reminding them they taught you to value honesty and that you're telling them about the breakage because you want to be honest with them. All parents want their children to be honest, so this approach is likely to soften their hearts toward you.
Step 5
Understand your parents' point of view. If you've damaged things before, they'll be more worried about what seems to be an ongoing pattern of destructive or careless behavior. And even if you haven't broken things in the past, they have a right to be upset if you've damaged something important to them or to your family.
Step 6
Explain exactly what happened. Don't be evasive. If your parents feel you're leaving out parts of the story, they might be more upset than if they see you're being honest about the circumstances. This means accepting responsibility for your error in judgment. For example, you might say, " I know I should have been more careful when I was putting on my coat, but I swung my arms too wide and bumped the vase on the table."
Step 7
Show remorse. Your parents will be reassured if they can see that you regret the mistake you made and are likely to never repeat it. Parents want to trust their children. If you show them how sorry you are, they will know you're unlikely to do it again. For example, if you loaned an expensive camera to your friend who dropped it, tell your parents you will not allow friends to borrow valuable items in the future.
Step 8
Imagine what your parents might say in response to the bad news and be the one to say it first. For example, if you think they might say, "You are so irresponsible," say, "I know it was so irresponsible of me" before they have the chance. The Huffington Post reminds us that parents are usually predictable, so you might be able to anticipate what they're going to say. If you verbalize what they're thinking, it helps them know you understand their feelings.

replied the topic can you tell me how to get fat fast? created by abcman

There was a reason I dressed up like superman every other day for the first six years of my life: Superman was strong, big, and powerful…and I wasn’t

To this day, it’s still a big challenge for me to gain any sort of weight or muscle. Now, if you’re somebody that struggles to lose weight, you might be thinking: “Steve, you’re so lucky you didn’t have to deal with being overweight growing up.”

Don’t you worry, a killer flat top, my height (5’2″ until I was 16), four years of braces, and two Acutane treatments made sure I still got the full adolescent experience :)

When I was cut from the high school basketball team (which I thought was the end of the world), I signed up for a gym membership to get big and strong; within five minutes I had almost killed myself when loading up way too much weight for a set of bench presses. Fortunately I survived, and thus began my love affair with strength training.

I spent the next six years training in a gym, reading every muscle and fitness magazine I could find, drinking protein shakes religiously…and had about 3 pounds of muscle gain to show for it. I just assumed “I’m one of those people who can’t gain weight.”

It turns out, I was doing it all wrong.

After graduating college I moved to California, signed up for a gym membership, and received a few free personal trainer sessions. Although I thought I had known it all (I had been training for 6 years in a gym! I read the muscle mags!), I still took the free sessions for the hell of it.

The trainer drastically simplified my workout and doubled the amount of food I was eating. I thought he was crazy, but I stuck with it.

In 30 days, I had put on 18 pounds (pictured below), increased the strength in ALL of my lifts, and felt more confident than I ever had before in my life.

replied the topic differences between one faction in the play and another? created by fancy

There are three factions in the Elder Scrolls Online. Each has its own unique crest, goal and consists of three playable races. All 3 factions are at war within the game and can attack each other. Within the special PvP territory of Cyrodiil representatives of one faction can attack representatives of another.

Once you've created your character it is impossible to move them from your current alliance to another, but, you can create a new one wherever you like. It is possible to have a character within each faction. We recommend you to try all the alliances as each has its own unique quests and history. So there are three different story lines to reach the end game. There are also multiple threads each storyline takes depending on your characters choices.

replied the topic try to do some basic Googling? created by beauty1

Many marketers avoid sales, which is terribly unfortunate because they aren’t that different from each other. Sales from my perspective is going out and proactively trying to win customers, while marketing is trying to get those same people to come to you. You’re still dealing with a similar target market, it’s just a different process. In addition, at most B2B companies, there’s a handoff between these two teams. It’s important that these people work well together.
I’m a huge fan of what Steli Efti is doing at, so I decided to ping him and ask him a few questions about what marketers can learn from sales people. He recorded a video response, and I highly recommend watching it. Here’s the video below:

replied the topic Can a mother be friends with her teenage daughter? created by tiger161

I hope you know how special it is for the mother of a fifteen year old to say "She's an awesome kid who isn't into the vices some of her friends are." I hope moms of younger kids who are reading this and formulating their parenting approaches also notice that your parenting philosophy is empathy and problem solving for the good of all concerned. Research shows that's the approach that produces awesome kids!

It is a hard lesson that we can't shield our kids from pain, especially as they get older. But that empathic "envelope" we offer them is just as important for teens, because it gives them a safe way to sort out the kind of person they want to be and the choices they want to make. I know your daughter is learning from you at every step because you are keeping the communication channels open.

replied the topic virus is living or non living created by metab

Without cells, viruses would not be able to multiply. Therefore, viruses are not living things.

When a virus encounters a cell, a series of chemical reactions occur that lead to the production of new viruses. These steps are completely passive, that is, they are predefined by the nature of the molecules that comprise the virus particle. Viruses don’t actually ‘do’ anything.

replied the topic tablet speed is very slow created by gabber

A notable number of users who have installed iOS 9 on their iPhones, iPad, and iPod touch have discovered that iOS 9 has caused performance to suffer, with annoying lag, choppiness in interactions, delayed response from the user interface, and just general performance degradation. That lag can be notable enough to make the device feel considerably slower on iOS 9 than when compared to the same hardware running a prior version of iOS. This can be a frustrating experience, but there are a few tweaks you can make to immediately improve the performance of a sluggish iOS 9 device, effectively speeding up the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch again.

Women are 'solely' responsible for the propagation and existence of the human race. Now with the creation of artificial sperm, a man's role in the process is void and unnecessary.
Statistically:Women live longer on average. Women deal better with stress.Women perform better in school. Women are better advertised and thus better paid in that particular industry. The youngest mathematics professor in the united States today is a woman...
