replied the topic Why are GPUs so much larger than CPUs? created by Itellyou

Not all are. Some are quite small and are even integrated within an SOC. However, the flagship GPUs are as large as reasonably possible so they can get the highest possible performance. They do this by having thousands of similar processing units and running them in parallel. CPUs could do a similar thing, but since they are designed for more general and non-parallel processing they would not gain much from having a huge number of cores. CPU design and process technology have combined so that they can be smaller than maximum size and still be good. Being smaller has a positive impact on yield and therefore cost per unit is better.

On the other hand, top of line GPUs can be priced higher as there are still people who find benefit in having the level of performance that a big GPU can deliver. And if not all of the big GPU is working correctly, it can often be fused down to a lesser performing, lower priced chip. This makes it worthwhile to push the limits on the number of transistors and size of the chip.

So to summarize: GPUs are big because they can be.

Hi, to make things simple, if you want to add a new memory, you had better add one that is identical to the first one, check the hardware monitor of Wise Care 365 to know the specs of the original one, then check if it is the same with the new one. Plus two same memory can work in dual channel.

Could you please be a little bit more specific, what version of Windows are you using? Did you check the task Manager, which program is consuming the most RAM and CPU? Did you try to restore the registry with Wise Care 365?

replied the topic Alt -Tab wont work AT all created by Itellyou

Perform clean boot and check if the issue persists.
Clean boot will help us identify if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.
To do this, follow steps from this link:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After checking the functionality in clean boot, follow the suggestions under “How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting”.
Also perform a full scan using Microsoft Safety Scanner.
Refer to this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.
Try these steps and let us know the results. We’d be happy to help if you need any further assistance.

replied the topic Task Manager > Startup > "There are no startup items to display" created by Chris

Having the same problem. The "startup" tab in the Task Manager is empty, even though I've verified that there are in fact items in the HKCU\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run key as well as in HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run key.

For whatever reason the Task Manager no longer displays anything in the Startup tab.

I have since learned that this tab can be quite finicky. For example, deleting the StartUp folder from your local Programs directory can cause it to return empty.

I had deleted this folder:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Once I restored the folder, the StartUp tab in Task Manager started working again.

replied the topic Font size too small created by Leehom

If you need to change the font size on the computer. you can make all of the text (and other things like icons) on your screen larger, or you can change the text size for specific items without changing the size of anything else on the screen
You can refer to the following Microsoft article to change the font size on the computer.

Refer this link to change the size of fonts:
