@FlashTech
Yes, it could be a hardware problem. But I thought it's some kind of a problem with the button because a pc technician opened it year ago and removed the keyboard, desktop, everything. Then he put the parts together fast and a little rude so a small part of the keyboard is broken and twisted now (the right part next to the power button). So I doubt that there is a problem with the connection with that power button. I don't know. Some days it works without any problem. Other days you have to push it really hard a couple of times and hold for 30 and more seconds until it makes a contact.

@mrthanh
And how I am supposed to turn it on again? I am asking how to start the pc without start button not how to turn it off. There is a key combination to turn it off which is far more simple than moving the exe file. And even a program could switch off/ log off the pc.

replied the topic Using Crack or Paid Programs created by ariefbogie

cracks on the net are full with malware - you download something thinking that this is a crack key but it most of the cases appears to be something that can ruin your system. Better if you need some program to be pro version just pay for it. Especially if it is for antivirus or a program for cleaning. The other risk with the cracks is that developers of the program may notice that someone is using a crack ( there is unusual activity that they notice) and may ban you from using their program. I don't recommend you to cheat!

replied the topic computer freezes created by francanti

Your PC is getting too hot. When it reaches high temperature, the screen freezes and maybe after some time the display will go dark until you turn off the pc. Check your thermal paste and clean off the fan. I think it's hardware problem and it needs opening up and cleaning up your pc. If it doesn't help, reinstall Windows. If the problem continues, upgrade your RAM. And also check your HDD for bad sectors - I recommend HD Tune or just disk check-up.

Maybe you're right. The laptop doesn't have a battery. But thanks for the sites - maybe it's another kind of problem.

Sorry for misunderstanding - my question is about a laptop - Asus K50C. There is some problem with the power button and it can be switch on only by pushing it very hard and holding it for almost a half a minute. I want to change the way it switches on by using a key combination. I've heard that there's a way to change it in BIOS but I'm not sure if will be any wrong consequences for the laptop. I know that I can use LAN but I prefer to use my keyboard to switch it on. Thank you for your answers. Tell me where to look into the BIOS for changing it and if there is some kind of risk to ruin something else into the memory by changing it?

replied the topic unable to install updates created by rossopaolo1949

Hello, Paolo!
It seems that you haven't uninstalled the previous versions of the programs correctly. Check for leftovers. Clean registry and other traces. And the new programs when you try to install them check if you use the Administrator's panel and with right button of the mouse choose Run As Administrator option. By the way which programs do you try to install? Are you sure that they need updated versions because most of the programs update themselves automatically without the need to uninstall them first?

it's not settings problem, I'm sure. PC runs Google Chrome. But if we try to use Firefox there's no change. Mozilla stores downloads in different folder and the problem stays so that's not a folder's problem too. I think there's problem with storage on the pc but I don't understand how to fix it. There is no installled program for resizing images and it uses Windows Photo Viewer by default but there are no settings for it.

replied the topic "New" utilities not working created by whennan

You are talking about the utilities created and supported by wise (auto shut down, file hider and etc.), right? They are different programs, different apps, .exe files, that's why they are downloading on your pc and should be installed as any other program. I can't tell why they are not working but I suppose you haven't installed them properly. Click on the downloaded file and try to run it as an administrator. Maybe this will help.

replied the topic How to remove omniboxes.com? created by Admin757

Nope it didn't help. I dd everything step by step, uninstalled chrome and now I have only IE and its start page is omniboxes search. There are traces in the pc but they are scripts and web pages stored as history of the browser. And can not be deleted. I deleted several times cookies, history and etc, reset the settings and when I start again the browser the situation is the same. I'll try to delete current version of the browser and install it again to see will there be a change.

replied the topic what is the red number on the wise icon on my desktop created by bbob

I don't think so! There is a red mark on my wise care even when I have cleaned up the pc. But when I open this forum of Assistance the red mark disappears. Could it be you have a message sth or a new question in the forum?

Use CCleaner. It will erase all your surfing history in all your browsers, history of pictures and videos you have viewed and etc.

replied the topic What could be causing my laptop to keep stalling when i'm playing games. Also what would be causing my CPU to run at 100 created by Chelper

I think this will help you:

There are a lot more videos in youtube. Watch them if you are interested. But if you change thermal paste for the 1st time and have never opened your pc I recommend you to let pc specialists do it. Otherwise it may lead your pc to the need of repair.

replied the topic What is meant by the 'Wise' statement: "...you will have to fix them manually."? created by schmankman

Yes, reboot the pc or try to use another program for deeply cleaning the left traces. I use CCleaner for erasing my surfing history after I have used Wise Cleaner. Then when I scan again with Wise - there are no traces left.

Have you tried to reboot the pc after cleaning? There are many files that will be deleted after the RAM is free.
