Kernel Panic whilst booting MacOS Sierra in VMware workstation 12 Reward $1
Created by Bendavidasdff, 201 days ago, 1377 views

Not sure what’s happening. I have been trying to install OS X in VMware for about a month now. I have finally done it by buying an old PC and upgrading the ram and the CPU. I currently have:

Intel core 2 duo CPU E6750 @2.66GHz
3.00 GB RAM
64 Bit OS x64 based processor

When I try to boot it up it gives me a kernel panic type page. I have uploaded an image to show you exactly what happens, and when it does the virtual machine restarts and it does the same thing. It just goes into a loop. I have set the virtualization to on, but it says at startup that

“intel VT-x/EPT is not supported on this platform.
Continiiue without virtualization?”

I have also attached a photo of the dialogue box too about the virtualization.

Any help will be greatly appreciated as have waited so long for this to work.

Thanks in advance to whoever helps me out.

Ben.

@Bendavidasdff

If the host system does not have a processor that supports hypervisor applications and you enable hypervisor application in the virtual machine, when the virtual machine starts, you see the message: "Virtualized intel VT-x/EPT is not supported on this platform. Continue without virtualized Intel VT-x/EPT?"

Shut down or power off the virtual machine. You cannot change the setting while the virtual machine is powered on or suspended.

Procedure:

1- From the VMware Fusion menu bar, select Window > Virtual Machine Library.

2- Select a virtual machine and click Settings.

3- In the Settings window, in the System Settings section, select Processors & Memory.

4- Click to expand Advanced Options and select the check boxes for the options

My suggestion would be to run Apple Hardware Test.

How to use Apple Hardware Test:

1» Disconnect all external devices except keyboard, mouse, display, Ethernet connection (if applicable), and connection to AC power. Apple Hardware Test might display an error message if you don't disconnect all other devices.

2» Make sure that your Mac is on a hard, flat, stable, well-ventilated work surface.

3» Shut down your Mac.

4» Turn on your Mac, then immediately press and hold the D key on your keyboard. Keep holding the D key until you see the Apple Hardware Test icon:

5» Select your language and click the right arrow. If you aren't using a mouse, you can use the up and down arrows to select a language, then press the Return key.

6» To begin testing, click the Test button, press T, or press Return. Optionally select "Perform extended testing" before beginning the test. This performs a more thorough test that takes longer to complete.

7» When the test is complete, review your test results in the lower-right section of the window.

8» To quit Apple Hardware Test, click Restart or Shut Down at the bottom of the window.
