Getting BSOD with CRITICAL PROCESS DIED error Reward $2
Created by dagorski, 327 days ago, 621 views

After installing Wise Cleaner on this laptop and running the PC Scan and Fix, the W10 machine (Version 1607, OS Buikd 14393.695) is experiencing periodic Blue Screen of Death errors with the message CRITICAL PROCESS DIED. It's not clear from the Event Log what is triggering this failure but WiseCleaner was the only software that has been installed on this machine prior to this problem. The only way to recover is power cycling the machine. The problem has occurred at least three times in the last 12 hours.

Do a system restore to a previous time before the installation of wise cleaner....

Ran the Dism tool in an elevated Command Prompt. It completed with the message, No component store corruption detected. When rerun with the /CheckHealth flag, I got the same message. It appears that Windows 10 believe everything in the OS image is fine.

It's not clear to me how performing a system restore to a time before the install would be useful. I'm going to uninstall the Wise Cleaner from this laptop and see whether the problem recurs. If the machine stablizes then the problem is sourced to this product. Strange that I have another identical machine that hasn't experienced any of these problems though.

Hi @dagorski

Try Nir Sofer lueScreenView v1.55. It will pin point the BSOD triggering driver.

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html

1) If the trouble causing driver found, try to reinstall the particular software.

2) If error not specific, try to restore your latest restore point.

3) If still problem persist, try to preform clean boot. And start your programs one by one to find the problem.
