You can bring either currency, it is the same easy to exchange both of them in banks or exchange offices. Better do not change money in airport - traditionally they have bad rates. Maybe withdraw some cash from ATM which is enough for your road from airport to hotel.

And then go to bank and change the sum of money you want.

Euro is strong at the moment, and many Russians are transfering their savings from Dollars to Euro, so you're likely to get a better exchange rate.



If you have any other currency, then it might be hard to find an exchange office, and the rate won't be in your favor. Better change your money in US dollars or Euro beforehand.

Also, the exchange rates of $ US and Euro to the Ruble is better in Moscow and St. Petersburg. If you change your money in Siberia, for example, you'll lose about 3%.

В связи с выходом Британии с эвросоюза на первое полугодие лучшей валютой будет доллар.Потом надо смотреть на ситуацию с наростанием политических споров в СЩА в связи с вступлением на должность Трампа как наиболее непредсказуемого президента.Тогда возможно будет лучше эвро.
