@bebhelms The easiest way (although it's mostly automatic) is to simply install a cleaner program. CCleaner and Wise Care 365 are both very good programs, and WC365 also comes with registry cleaner and optizmizer as well.

Though it's still good to create a batch shortcut file containing the ipconfig commands, so they can be ran in only two clicks.

@bebhelms I used to have a slow computer. But when I installed CCleaner it helped me a lot. I still use it and you should try it.

CCleaner Download Link :
https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard

It will clean all your junk files. And also very easy to use.

some of the simplest actions you can apply for immediate results are:

disabling startup items.
removing temporary files.
uninstalling unused applications.
and disk maintenance.

You manually clean your PC by performing maintenence on each of these subjects. For example, to disable startup items you simply need to do this:

Launch a “Run” window by typing “WIN + R” and then “msconfig.”

On the “System Configuration” utility, select the “Startup” tab.

Disable any programs you dont need starting up when you turn your computer on.
By doing this your computer will run noticeably faster.

For the other three subjects you can see the steps here: http://www.howtogeek.com/school/pc-maintenance-for-beginners/lesson2/all/

You can use the system builtin Disk Cleaner Manager to clean computer. For that:
1. Open "Run" or simply use combination of Windows + R to open run.
2.Type cleanmgr and press enter
3.Now you can select disk drive .Select C: drive as it is where different temporary files and caches are stored.
4.Wait till it scans your computer and shows you different junk files as in the attached image.

5.Select the files you want to delete. Uncheck downloaded program files if you want to retain it in space. Then tap OK
6.It will ask your confirmation and confirm it by tapping " Delete Files".You are done.
Note:You have to go for "clear browsing data" manually if you have any browsers .
So to simplify these steps download free safe and lightweight software like CCleaner. You can download it from its official websites: piriform.com.

Hi, @bebhelms The best way to manually clean your pc is to go to the search box (if your using windows its in the bottom left, click on that and the search box will be there, or if you have Cortana you can do it to) at the search box, type in "File Explorer" and then open it by clicking on it. Next, use the sidebar (left side of the window, and scroll down until you see OS (C:), although yours might look a little different than mine. Once you click on OS (C:) about 15 folders will show up, go through them and delete anything you don't want, this is going to take a long time for you to do though, because there is a lot of files in the folders.

I personally do NOT recommend deleting files manually, unless you really know what your doing, because you risk deleting a important file, and windows not working anymore.
That is why I recommend installing a AV (Anti-Virus) program, because it will work way faster than manually, and way better at deciding what to delete. If you have windows 10, you should already have Windows Defender. If you don't, I would recommend installing Advanced System Care 10, because it does a amazing job.
Here is the official link for it if you decide to download it, its your choice though, don't download it if you do not trust it.

@bebhelms
One way to clean the computer is to
1. Open "Control Panel"
2. Open "Programs"

then look at each program and select what you would like to keep and what programs to uninstall.
You can also look into software or apps to download/install that can search for all duplicate files that you may want to delete as well as optimizing the computer in order to run faster.
