Hi @nanna

You can't directly set gif image as wallpaper in windows. YOu have to convert to video formate / .wav formate first.

You have to install a tool like DreamScene Activator to enable that to play animation.

And the .wav file as background.

But if you try to run a heavy program /heavy games, this may affect the computer performance.

This link could give you the answer if you have Win 7. You have to download Dreamscape first...but this will explain it better.

What is everyone talking about? lol. you right click on the image and at the top you'll see written either "Set as desktop background" or set as desktop wallpaper etc it depends on your version of windows. All this other stuff is just advanced things. Windows will put ANY gif on your desktop so be careful of size. Having said that, are you talking about an animated gif? In my humble opinion the op would have said animated if he mean't animated. SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHESH lol

Hi @nanna

The answer is yes, it depended on PC and your use. It will confirm take more resource with respect to background processing load and type of animation you select.

This is the same reason why Microsoft disable playable animation in background.

So if you are light PC user then you can try. But if you are a heavy PC user like playing heavy game programs or using IDE for development purpose then I will not recommend you.

You may try light animation and small .wav file that don't burn that don't drain your PC process.
