When a phone can sound as good as my little Cowon J3 then perhaps i'd stop using them but considering i've just bought an HD Music Player which with the right headphone set up will sound like pure heaven,24 bit Flac through a decent little portable amp and your talking musical nirvana for an audiophille like myself so i think it's fair to say my phone will be used for it's main purpose, making phonecalls and sending texts but as a music player, nah never gonna happen.

Hi @boyz
yes i still have it after i get smartphone because they're smaller and lighter Many MP3 players are significantly smaller, lighter, and cheaper than smartphones. This makes them great for situations where you wouldn’t want to carry a smartphone.
after you read this you understand what i mean:http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/should-you-still-buy-mp3-players/

It depends on requirements.

For self. Smartphone is ok.

For party with friends, requires a player for its more good quality.

No, my smartphone is good enough for all Messaging, Calls, Music, Various Apps like Skype and even emails.

I do not carry any iPods or MP3 players - I don't need them. However, I still do have a Blu Ray for movies.

Though I might buy one for home - Just to show off :)

Well I do, because using your phone for playig music really drains the battery.

I play my old iPod nano, and I still got it handy. BTW, music players tend to give better sound than the smartphones.

Yes. All of my music is on an android phone. Eliminated carrying devices and charging hassle. Easy when using across other devices and platforms.
